CAN bus data transfer

The tachograph has no connection to the yellow CAN bus.

Short circuit or open circuit yellow CAN bus.

Check the wiring and electrical connections of the yellow CAN bus and measure the voltage level. If necessary, use the troubleshooting tips under the "Data transfer problems" heading in the "Help" section of SDP3.

In order to make sure that the correct type of CAN bus is specified in the tachograph, you can use a special test device for the tachograph. Perform the necessary adjustment using the tester.

Also check if the coordinator or instrument cluster generated any trouble codes.

36875

CAN bus data transfer

The tachograph has no connection to the yellow CAN bus.

Short circuit or open circuit in yellow CAN bus. A DTC may also be generated by using the wrong type of tachograph.

Check the wiring and electrical connections for the yellow CAN bus. Make sure that the tachograph is adapted to the car.

36879

A set of buttons

Keyboard tachograph gave a constant signal.

One of the keyboard buttons was held for a long time or permanently pressed down.

Determine which of the buttons causes the malfunction and check that it is not locked in the depressed position. Try to restart the function.

If the fault cannot be repaired or it appears again, the tachograph must be replaced.

36880

Display

A malfunction has been detected in the display or display driver.

Faulty display or internal fault in the tachograph.

Try turning the power on and off again. If the DTC remains active, replace the tachograph. Display cannot be replaced separately.

36945

Tachograph card

The tachograph card for driver 1 is not in the tachograph.

Driver Error.

The fault code is registered only if the tachograph is included in any mode, except for the driver's rest. As soon as the car starts moving, the tachograph automatically updates the time.

The tachograph does not have an internal count of the number of registrations of this fault code. Therefore, the number of registrations of the fault code will always be 255, even if this fault was registered only once.

The DTC symbol disappears from the display after the fault has been rectified.

Insert the missing tachograph card and make sure that the tachograph is working in the correct mode.

36946

Tachograph card

The tachograph card for driver 2 is not in the tachograph.

36947

Time

The difference between the time set on the tachograph display and the time on the tachograph holder's watch is more than two minutes.

The total duration of the tachograph power outage periods exceeds two minutes. Shorter breaks in the electrical supply are accumulated, and information on their total duration is stored in the memory of the tachograph. As soon as the total duration of power-off periods begins to exceed two minutes, a fault code is generated.

Note that a malfunction code is generated only after the interruption of the electrical supply, and not when the cause of the time shift is an internal mechanical fault.

The tachograph does not have an internal count of the number of registrations of this fault code. Therefore, the number of registrations of the fault code will always be 255, even if this fault was registered only once.

The DTC symbol disappears from the display after the fault has been rectified.

Try to update the time setting for the tachograph recorder.

Make sure the car is still.

Turn the ignition key to the on position.

Remove all tachogram discs.

Close the tachogram disc tray.

Open the tray and re-insert the tachogram disc.

If the DTC remains active, replace the tachograph.

36960

Tachograph card cover

The tachograph card tray does not open.

Possible reasons:

Tachograph card is damaged or installed incorrectly.

The tachograph card compartment cover is mechanically jammed.

Faulty extraction motor

Make sure that there are no foreign objects on the lower part of the tachograph that have fallen into the compartment of the upper shelf where the tachograph is installed.

While pressing the tray open button, at the same time, gently try to open it manually.

Check that the tachogram disc is inserted completely and properly.

If the fault occurs again, despite the fact that there are no visible damages to the tachogram disc and the disc is inserted correctly, then the tachograph must be replaced.

36961

check in

No speed registration on the tachograph card.

Internal fault in the tachograph.

While the DTC is active, the vehicle’s speed is not recorded on the tachograph card.

Try turning the power on and off again. If this does not help and the DTC remains active, replace the tachograph.

36962

check in

Bad registration function.

Internal fault in the tachograph.

While the DTC is active, the registration of parameters on the tachograph card will not be performed correctly.

Try turning the power on and off again. If this does not help and the DTC remains active, replace the tachograph.

36963

check in

Bad registration function.

The presence of interference to the movement of the registration unit.

While the DTC is active, the registration of parameters on the tachograph card will not be performed correctly.

Check if the tachograph card is damaged. Replace if damaged.

If the fault code appears again, despite the absence of a fault in the tachograph card, the tachograph should be replaced.

36964

Tachograph card holder

The fault occurred when updating the time setting on the tachograph card holder or when activating the tachograph card holder.

Internal fault in the tachograph.

First, check the condition of the used tachogram disc.

Then update the time setting on the tachogram disc holder.

Make sure the car is still.

Turn the ignition key to the on position.

Remove all tachogram discs.

Close the tachogram disc tray.

Open the tray and re-insert the tachogram disc.

If the malfunction code remains again present, then the tachograph must be replaced.

37936

Output signal

An incorrect output signal from pin B7 has been detected.

Incorrect connection in the electrical circuit of pin B7 or internal fault in the tachograph.

Pin B7 is for optional equipment only.

Check for any connection to the B7 pin. If this is the case, check if this is the cause of the malfunction by interrupting the connection and checking whether the malfunction code remains active (confirmed).

If nothing is connected to this output, then the tachograph may be faulty. In this case, the tachograph must be replaced. However, before making a replacement decision, delete the DTC and check if it appears again.

41040

Tachograph card

The tachograph registered the movement of the car in the absence of a tachogram disc in the tachograph.

The tachograph card for the first driver is missing or incorrectly inserted.

The tachograph does not have an internal count of the number of registrations of this fault code. Therefore, the number of registrations of the fault code will always be 255, even if this fault was registered only once.

The DTC symbol is displayed on the vehicle only. When the vehicle is stopped, there is no speed pulse signal, and the DTC symbol disappears from the display.

If the DTC is active, the symbol of the installed tachogram disc will not appear on the display.

Insert a working tachograph card into the correct tray and adjust the tachograph to the desired operation mode. Check that the display shows the symbol of the loaded tachograph card.

41984

Power supply

The tachograph voltage supply has been stopped or the voltage is too low.

Short circuit or break in an electric circuit of the tachograph. A fault code can also be generated in the event of a voltage drop during loading due to too low battery capacity.

In some cases, a DTC may be generated due to an internal tachograph fault.

A fault code is generated when the correct voltage level is restored. Since it is considered that the malfunction is then rectified, the malfunction code immediately becomes inactive, and therefore is never displayed as active.

Check the power supply for short circuit and open circuit. Make sure the battery capacity is sufficient and there is a charge current from the generator.

If the fault is internal, replace the tachograph.

42001

Link to instrument cluster

Interruption of data exchange between the tachograph and the instrument cluster.

Short circuit or open circuit in yellow CAN bus. A fault code can also be generated if the instrument cluster is turned off while the power is on.

The tachograph indicator on the instrument cluster is on.

Check the wiring and electrical connections for the yellow CAN bus. Check the instrument cluster for newly generated fault codes.

42019

Pulse sensor

An incorrect or unidentifiable pulse signal code is registered.

The fault code is set if after replacing the tachograph or the pulse sensor they were not reconciled using a special tester.

A fault code can also be set if the connection between the tachograph and the sensor is broken, which may occur due to a short circuit, open circuit or a malfunction of the pulse sensor.

Permanent or episodic violation of the registration on the tachograph card can be an indication of a failure in data exchange between the tachograph and the pulse sensor.

Perform block matching procedure, if necessary using a special test device.

Check the transducer, including its wiring and electrical connectors.

43042

Pulse sensor

The voltage applied to the solenoid valve is too low.
