Truck Climate Control Unit

 

MID146 - PID170 - FMI 3

Cabin air temperature sensor.

The climate control unit registers the voltage in the temperature sensor circuit above 4.86 V. The sensor is not connected to the control unit. It is possible that the signal or ground wire is shorted to a higher voltage.

 

MID146 - PID170 - FMI 4

Cabin air temperature sensor.

The climate control unit registers the voltage in the temperature sensor circuit below 0.7 V. The signal wire is shorted to ground or the sensor is faulty.

 

MID146 - PID171 - FMI 3

Outside temperature sensor.

The climate control unit registers the voltage in the temperature sensor circuit above 4.9 V. Shorting the signal or ground wire to a higher voltage. Probably defective sensor.

 

MID146-  PID171 - FMI 4

Outside temperature sensor.

The climate control unit registers the voltage in the temperature sensor circuit below 0.55 V. The signal wire is shorted to ground or the sensor is faulty.

Air temperature sensor (located between the evaporator and fan).

The climate control unit registers the voltage in the temperature sensor circuit above 4.86 V. The sensor is not connected to the control unit. It is possible to short circuit a signal or ground wire to a higher voltage.

Air temperature sensor (located between the evaporator and fan).

The climate control unit registers the voltage in the temperature sensor circuit below 0.24 V. The signal wire is shorted to ground or the sensor is faulty.

Stepper motor controls the external air intake and recirculation flap.

The climate control unit registers a short to ground. Shorting the signal wire of the motor to a lower voltage or to ground.

 

MID146 - SID 6 - FMI 4

Stepper motor control air distribution flaps.

The climate control unit registers a short to ground. Shorting the signal wire of the motor to a lower voltage or to ground.

 

MID146 - SID 9 - FMI 4

Stepper motor controlling air supply bypassing the heat exchanger.

The climate control unit registers a short to ground. Shorting the signal wire of the motor to a lower voltage or to ground.

Clutch for turning on the air conditioning compressor.

Shorting the signal wire to a circuit with a lower voltage or to ground.

 

MID146 - SID 11 - FMI 5

Clutch for turning on the air conditioning compressor.

Open the ground wire of the compressor clutch or the clutch is faulty.

 

MID146 SID 12 FMI 3

Coolant flow control valve through the heat exchanger.

Shorting the signal or ground wire to a higher voltage.

The climate control unit registers a signal with a voltage above 4.5 V. from the pressure sensor. Shorting the signal or ground wire to a higher voltage.

Refrigerant pressure sensor in the system.

The climate control unit registers a signal with a voltage below 0.3 V from the pressure sensor. Short circuit of the signal wire to ground, wire breakage between the unit and the sensor, or the sensor is not connected to the connector.

5 V. power supply to the refrigerant pressure sensor in the system.

The climate control unit registers the sensor supply voltage above 5.5 V. Shorting the signal or ground wire to a higher voltage.

The climate control unit registers a short to ground. Shorting the signal wire to a lower voltage or to ground.

The climate control unit registers the voltage in the temperature sensor circuit above 4.95 V. Shorting the signal or ground wire to a higher voltage. Replace the climate control unit.

The climate control unit registers the voltage in the temperature sensor circuit below 0.05 V. The signal wire is shorted to ground. Replace the climate control unit.

The climate control unit registers the voltage in the temperature sensor circuit below 0.05 V. The signal wire is shorted to ground. Replace the climate control unit.

Loss of communication on the SAE J1587 data channel with the engine control unit (MID128).

Communication with the engine control unit (MID128) was interrupted for more than 60 seconds. There is no information on coolant temperature and engine speed. Short or open of data channel SAE J1587. Check the integrity of the data channel, check the fault codes in the engine control unit.

Loss of communication on the SAE J1587 data channel with the vehicle control unit (MID144).

Communication with the car control unit (MID144) was interrupted for more than 60 seconds. There is no information about the vehicle speed. Short or open data channel SAE J1587. Check the integrity of the data channel, check the fault codes in the vehicle control unit.

Lost Communication With SAE J1587 Data Channel With Dashboard Control Unit (MID140)

Communication with the dashboard control unit (MID140) was interrupted for more than 60 seconds. There is no information about the outdoor temperature. Short or open of data channel SAE J1587. Check the integrity of the data channel, check trouble codes in the dashboard control unit.
