Fmi 0
Conditions for registering a trouble code:
Signal level above 4.7 V.
Possible reason:
Faulty wear sensor.
Defective modulator.
Damaged wires or contacts.
Control unit response:
Disabled brake lining warning function.
Obvious external signs:
The yellow warning light is on.
Pictogram of a minor brake system malfunction.
Alert: EBS system fault indicator.
Relevant check:
Check for open or shorted wires and contacts between the modulator and the wear sensor.
Perform MID 136 SID 70/71/72/73/74/75 Sensor, pad wear, inspection.
In the worst case, replace the modulator.
Fmi 1
Conditions for registering a trouble code:
The signal level is below 0.48 V.
Possible reason:
Faulty wear sensor.
Defective modulator.
Damaged wires or contacts.
Control unit response:
Disabled brake lining warning function.
Obvious external signs:
The yellow warning light is on.
Pictogram of a minor brake system malfunction.
Alert: EBS system fault indicator.
Relevant check:
Check for open or shorted wires and contacts between the modulator and the wear sensor.
Perform MID 136 SID 70/71/72/73/74/75 Sensor, pad wear, inspection.
In the worst case, replace the modulator.
Fmi 3
Conditions for registering a trouble code:
Short circuit of the power circuit of the wear sensor to a circuit with a voltage above 6 V.
Possible reason:
Defective modulator.
Damaged wires or contacts (short circuit to a circuit with a higher voltage).
Control unit response:
Disabled brake lining warning function.
Obvious external signs:
The yellow warning light is on.
Pictogram of a minor brake system malfunction.
Alert: EBS system fault indicator.
Relevant check:
Check for a short between the modulator power supply circuit (CSG 2) and the wear sensor power supply circuit (LWS A / B 3, LWS A / B 5, LWS C / D 3, LWS C / D 5).
In the worst case, replace the modulator.
Fmi 10
Conditions for registering a trouble code:
Signals on the right and left side differ by more than 20%.
Possible reason:
The brake caliper is mechanically damaged / defective.
The wear on the brake pads is too great.
Control unit response:
EBS functionality downgraded.
Obvious external signs:
The yellow warning light is on.
Pictogram of a minor brake system malfunction.
Alert: EBS system fault indicator.
Relevant check:
Check brake caliper and brake pads.
Fmi 12
Conditions for registering a trouble code:
Short circuit of the power circuit of the wear sensor to a circuit with a voltage below 4.5 V.
Short to ground in the power circuit of the wear sensor.
Possible reason:
Defective modulator.
Damaged wires or contacts.
Control unit response:
Disabled brake lining warning function.
Obvious external signs:
The yellow warning light is on.
Pictogram of a minor brake system malfunction.
Alert: EBS system fault indicator.
Relevant check:
Check the wires and contacts between the modulator and the wear sensor.
Perform MID 136 SID 70/71/72/73/74/75 Sensor, pad wear, inspection.
In the worst case, replace the modulator.
